it was a breezy, beautiful sunday

so she wore her favorite striped dress out to play

i remember the touch of your hands,

warming mine whenever you hold them in yours

i remember the gaze of your eyes,

charming mine whenever i look into them

i remember the resonating tune of your voice,

i heard you sing, and it made my heart cry

silent tears that were never dried

how fallible, the human mind is

how obscure, the human reality is

how distorting, recollections yesteryears

how comforting, these sorrowful tears ...
